Notifications, background tasks, automatic synchronization or alarms do not work correctly for “Auto Message” on your Sony Xperia E5?


  1. Open the “Settings” of your device.
  2. Choose “Storage & memory”.
  3. Next to “Smart cleaner”, if the switch is turned off, i.e. with its knob or handle at the left, there’s nothing left for you to do. Otherwise, proceed with the next step.
  4. At the top right, tap on ⋮ (three dots) to open the expanded menu.
  5. Choose “Advanced”.
  6. Add “Auto Message” to the “Whitelist”.
  7. Leave by pressing ○ (“Home”) at the bottom of your device.
  8. Open “Auto Message” on your device.
  9. Leave by pressing ○ (“Home”) at the bottom of your device.

  1. Open the “Settings” of your device.
  2. Choose “Battery” or “Power management”.
  3. Choose “Stamina mode”.
  4. At the top, make sure that the switch is turned off, i.e. with its knob or handle at the left.
  5. Next to “Extended standby”, make sure that the switch is turned off, i.e. with its knob or handle at the left.
  6. Next to “Extended usage”, make sure that the switch is turned off, i.e. with its knob or handle at the left.
  7. Next to “Stamina clock”, make sure that the switch is turned off, i.e. with its knob or handle at the left.
  8. Tap on “Apps active in standby”.
  9. If “Auto Message” is already in the list, there’s nothing left for you to do. Otherwise, proceed with the next step.
  10. At the top, tap on “Add applications”.
  11. Find “Auto Message” in the list of apps.
  12. Next to “Auto Message”, put a checkmark into the checkbox.
  13. At the bottom, tap on “Done”.
  14. Leave by pressing ○ (“Home”) at the bottom of your device.
  15. Open “Auto Message” on your device.
  16. Leave by pressing ○ (“Home”) at the bottom of your device.

  1. Open the “Settings” of your device.
  2. Choose “Battery” or “Power management”.
  3. Choose “Stamina mode”.
  4. Select “Never”.
  5. Leave by pressing ○ (“Home”) at the bottom of your device.
  6. Open “Auto Message” on your device.

  5. Tap on “Add applications”.
  6. Find “Auto Message” in the list of apps.
  7. Next to “Auto Message”, put a checkmark into the checkbox.
  8. At the bottom, tap on “Done”.
  9. Leave by pressing ○ (“Home”) at the bottom of your device.
  10. Open “Auto Message” on your device.
  11. Leave by pressing ○ (“Home”) at the bottom of your device.

  5. In the “Not optimized” section, if “Auto Message” is in the list, there’s nothing left for you to do. Otherwise, proceed with the next step.
  6. Switch to the “All others” section.
  7. Find “Auto Message” in the list of apps.
  8. Next to “Auto Message”, make sure that there is a checkmark in the checkbox.
  9. Leave by pressing ○ (“Home”) at the bottom of your device.
  10. Open “Auto Message” on your device.
  11. Leave by pressing ○ (“Home”) at the bottom of your device.

  8. Leave by pressing ○ (“Home”) at the bottom of your device.

  1. There are many apps on the app store which claim to boost performance, free up space, save battery, or optimize the RAM of your device. However, these apps interfere with other apps, like “Auto Message”, and prevent them from working correctly.
  2. If you have any app like “Clean Master”, “Security Master”, “Task Manager”, “Phone Cleaner”, “Super Cleaner”, “Power Clean”, “DU Cleaner”, “DU Speed Booster”, “CCleaner”, “AVG Cleaner”, “Avast Cleanup” or “Norton Clean”, check that it doesn’t block or terminate “Auto Message”.
  3. If unsure, consider uninstalling the app claiming to “clean” or “boost” your device.
